The hand sanitizers and hand washes have been kept ready in many Chennai colleges now. From today, students belonging to under graduate courses would be going to their colleges in Chennai once again. The college managements are not expecting more than half the students to turn up at their colleges. As not many days are left for Christmas vacations, some colleges have put off on-campus classes to the next semester. The online examinations have been scheduled.

Just last week, the colleges in Chennai and in TN reopened for the PG science and technology students and for the research students. For the sake of maintaining social distancing, D.G. Vaishnava College would be splitting final year degree students into 2 batches. The principal of D. G. Vaishnav College, Mr. Santhosh Babu spoke about how there are plans to recap the lessons on online mode. He hinted about the value education classes and about the orientation classes for the students. Information is this college would conduct the semester exams a week later.

Quarantining the students for 14 days in the hostels would be highly impossible and this was mentioned by few principals of the colleges. In the Gurunanak College in Chennai, all the classrooms have been cleaned well and the seatings have been spread out. This has been mentioned by the school principal Mr. Raghunathan. For checking the temperature of the students, this college has hired an additional security personnel. The college is expecting just 50% of the students on Monday and study materials would be distributed to them.
