Prices of vegetables down in Chennai Metro City!

During the entire month of November, the price of the vegetables showed an upward trend becoming costlier! Except for a few days, the price of the essential vegetables such as tomato, onion, etc., persisted on the rather high level.

However, the onset of December has shown a change – the prices have started reducing somewhat though there are fluctuations in the price of some vegetables. As compared to yesterday (Thursday, 10th December), the vegetable prices have come down today (Friday, 11th December).

Tomato was sold at Rs. 10/- per kg in the Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market yesterday (10th December). On 9th December, the tomato was sold at Rs. 20/- per kg. Similarly, the price of onion also has come down from Rs. 30 per kg (9th) to Rs. 25 per kg (10th).

The price of fat beans (avaraikkai) has come down from Rs. 40 per kg to Rs. 30 per kg. Beans is sold at Rs. 20 per kg and beetroot, at Rs. 15 per kg.
