From 19th December, counselling for MBBS/BDS under management quota in TN

The latest news is from 19th of December 2020 counselling for the MBBS/BDS seats under management quota would start. Nehru Outdoor Stadium at Periamedu is the place where the counselling would be held and this place would be buzzing with activities. This was as per the schedule that was released by the selection committee belonging to the DME.

Call letters for the counselling could be drawn from the websites www.tnmedicalselection.org and from www.tnhealth.tngovt.in. It must be noted that this time around no individual call letters would be sent to the selected students.

As the processing fee at the time of counselling, the candidates would have to produce a demand draft payable at Chennai for Rs 1000 drawn in favour of Secretary, Selection Committee Chennai-10.  Only at the time of receipt of the allotment order, those candidates who got selected must pay an amount of Rs 1 lakh as registration fee by means of demand draft only.

Information gathered is that after receipt of joining report from the deans of the respective colleges this amount of Rs 1 lakh would be transferred to the colleges.  The two websites mentioned above would show the tentative vacancy position.

The selection committee has postponed the counselling for the NRI candidates to 18th of December and that was due to the representations from the candidates. 

Point is that the counselling was scheduled to take place on 17th December 2020.It is important to note that out of 86 candidates called for counselling for admission into Government Erode Medical College Hospital, IRT Perundurai, just 48 candidates came for the counselling. Allotment of seats was done for 30 candidates and the rest 18 were placed on the waiting list. 

During the counselling, as many as 82 seats were allotted at CMC Vellore and 212 candidates were called for counselling. Truth is 135 candidates attended the counselling.
