The Ventra Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari has informed that fixing of FASTAG stickers vehicles has been made mandatory with effect from 1st January 2021.
The central government has been emphasising to fix the FASTAG stickers on all vehicles to simplify the process of paying tollgate charges in tollgates in the highways throughout the country saving time as well. The FASTAG stickers are to be fixed on the front glass panel of the vehicle.
With this, the amounts of charges to be paid can be kept in the account. When these vehicles with FASTAG pass through the tollgates, the gadget fixed in the tollgate will deduct the payment through the FASTAG sticker. With this facility, the waiting time for the vehicles passing through the tollgate while paying tollgate charges will be greatly reduced.
This procedure has already been implemented. Nevertheless, there is permission to pay the tollgate charges by cash at the tollgates.
In the above scenario, while participating through videoconference in an event conducted on Thursday (24th December), the Central Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari informed, “Fixing FASTAG sticker on all vehicles is being made mandatory from 1st January 2021. With this, the waiting period in the tollgates will reduce substantially and also, a god quantum of fuel will be saved!”
It may be noted here that the FASTAG stickers can be obtained from the tollgates and banks.
