Monday morning proved to be harrowing for parents who were dropping off their wards at school on the first day of the academic year. The traffic congestion was particularly bad in the Gandhinagar and Adyar areas where there are a number of schools that include Sr. Michaels Academy, Bala Vidya Mandir, Rajah Muthiah Senior Secondary School, St. Patrick’s, Kumararani Rani Meiyammai Higher Secondary School among others.
‘Due to a heavy vehicle traffic on the streets leading to the school, we were forced to get off on First Main Road and walk all the way to the Fourth Main Road to reach the school on time’, said a parent trying to get to St. Michaels.
