In the initial learning assessment test that was conducted to evaluate the students belonging to the government as well as government aided schools in TN, many students did not do well. It is now said that the syllabus for classes 10 and 12 would be reduced further to help both teachers and students. The sources have hinted that nearly 50% of the syllabus might be reduced.
It must be noted that as the schools reopened on 19th January 2021, the school education department had reduced syllabuses for classes 10 and 12 by 35% to 40%. It was later pointed out by a senior official belonging to the school education department that initial learning assessment tests were conducted after the schools reopened. Information is that the test was a computer based test based on the portions in the text books. The shocking truth is most of the students were unable to clear the tests due to lack of online classes.
For the private school students, e-classes took place but these classes could not be held for the students belonging to the government schools. It is now said that after further reduction in the syllabus extra classes would be held in the government schools to help the students before board exams.
