TN Police undergo drill to test efficiency

The Tamil Nadu Police are undergoing a 36 hour drill called Operation Hamla that will test the prowess and efficiency of state and central defense forces against a terrorist attack. Policemen, dressed as terrorists, will try to enter the city and the others will need to nab them.
Coordinating the mission, Coastal Security Group, Additional Director-General of Police C. Sylendra Babu said, ‘This time, we have roped in officers of the coast guard and navy, apart from the police commandos to act as `terrorists` and sneak into the state and reach the assigned target. The idea is to apprehend them at the earliest. Every place of public gathering is being monitored by the police personnel as a four-layer security cover has been deployed in the city… We have formed 100 check points on the border roads and coastal security group officials are monitoring the coast.’
