Do not have voter ID?? You can still vote.. if you have these proofs!

With the Tamil Nadu State Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled to be conducted in a single phase tomorrow (Tuesday, 6th April), let us be aware of other proofs required to cast the vote in the above elections!

While casting vote, the citizens without voter ID can show the following as identity proof and vote:

Aadhar Card, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment card, bank passbook with photo, Post Office Savings account passbook, the medical insurance  smart card issued under the Labour Welfare Ministry Scheme, Passport, Pension document with photo, the employee Identity Card with photos issued by the Central or State Governments, or the Identity Card issued to the Members of the Legislative Assembly

Foreign resident Indian Citizens who are registered under citizenship Act section 20-A can vote provided they show their visas.

Election Commission’s Important Guidelines

Voting time: from 7.00 AM to 7.00 PM. Voters cannot bring their cell phones to the polling booths. As a preventive action against the coronavirus spread, the voters MUST WEAR FACE MASKS AND OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING!

Voters will be allowed to vote ONLY AFTER THE THERMAL SCAN. Arrangements have been made to issue one right-hand glove for the voters.
