The board examinations for the class12 CBSE students have been postponed now. These students have to wait till June for the CBSE review meeting to take place. In this meeting, a decision would be taken about the board examinations for the class 12 students.
It must be noted that on Wednesday, 14th April 2021 CBSE postponed class12 board examinations due to the rise in the Coronavirus cases across India. The students have been studying through online classes and now they are taking up the revision exams before the board examinations in May.
According to Mr. Ashok Shankar, general secretary, CBSE Schools Management Association, it was clear that the students were well prepared and confident about their board exams. He added that now that the CBSE has postponed the class 12 board exams the students have lots of time and they would focus on the competitive and other entrance exams.
Principal of Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram, Chennai Mr. P.G. Subramaniam expressed his thoughts and spoke about how the students of classes 10 and 12 got back to school in January only after a long gap. He shed light on how it would be tough for the teachers and schools to keep the students motivated over the next month as the students were ready to take up their board exams from 4th May.
The board exams for the CBSE students of class 10 have been cancelled and soon criteria would be prepared and based on the criteria results would be announced.
Mr. C. Satish, director, Paavai group of institutions, explained that the students have been provided with the options of taking up the exam if they were not satisfied with the results announced based on the performance through the year. He was of the opinion that CBSE must award grades for the class10 students instead of marks this year.
Physical classes have been going on in various schools in TN for the students of class 12 amidst the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. For the students belonging to class 9, 10 and 11 there are no physical classes now. There are possibilities of stopping the physical classes for the class 12 students also due to the increase of the Coronavirus cases.
It is important to mention here that for the students of class 10 belonging to the state board, board exams have been cancelled and students of class 12 would appear for their board exams from 5th May onwards.
