With the increasing trend on the impact/extent of the raging resurgent coronavirus spread especially over the last few days, the Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu is scheduled to conduct a review meeting regarding the need to impose further restrictions tomorrow (Friday, 16th April)!

Indeed, the statistics reveal that the resurgent coronavirus pandemic has been spreading quite fast and wide! As such, a few restrictions have already been imposed to check this spread such as – only 50% capacity to be filled in theatres, examinations being cancelled in all schools and colleges, no permission for standing passengers in buses, and only 2 passengers being allowed in autos and 3 in cars, etc. Even then, the trend of the spread has only been increasing!

With the commencement of the ‘Vaccination Festival’ in Tamil Nadu, on the 1st day yesterday (Wednesday, 14th April), a target had been set to vaccinate at least 2 Lakhs citizens! However, only 75000 citizens got administered with vaccination yesterday!

Though on the one side, the resurgent coronavirus has been spreading quite hectic, on the other side, a notable disinterest of the public can be perceived on the vaccination front! So far, in Tamil Nadu, over 41 lakhs citizens have got vaccinated.

In this scenario of the alarming resurgent corona spread, a full-fledged review meeting is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow (Friday, 16th April) by the Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu with all the senior officials and concerned including the Director of the Health, Selvavinayakam and the Secretary of the Health Department, J. Radhakrishnan to review and decide on the further restrictions to be imposed and also increasing the extent of vaccinations per day.
