From Sunday onwards, night curfew and restricted shop timings likely in TN

On Sunday, 18th April 2021, there would be a meeting between the CM of TN Mr. E. Palaniswami and the officials including the chief secretary Mr. Rajeev Ranjan. In this meeting decision on the additional restrictions to be implemented would be taken.

A source from Secretariat in Chennai confirmed the presence of the chief minister in Salem and spoke about how after his return on Sunday the officials would meet him the CM on Sunday and apprise him of decisions taken today. Announcements would be made after the meeting with the chief minister of TN. It is worthy to note on Friday the number of cases reached all time high of 8449.

Chief Secretary of TN, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan met some officers belonging to the education department to take a decision on class 12 board exams on Thursday. He met the health secretary of TN Mr. Radhakrishnan plus other health department officials on Friday and discussed various additional restrictions that would be needed to reduce the cases.

To prevent people from crowding in the vegetable, meat and fish markets, night curfew has been recommended by the officials belonging to the department of health. In addition, restrictions in the timings of shops and commercial centres were also recommended.

It is believed that public parks, gyms etc are responsible for rapid spreading of the infection and the TN government and medical experts have asked to shut down these fully. Point is that the officials have recommended the TN government to reduce the number of government officials coming to the offices 50 just 50percent.
