Indian Meteorological Centre shares the forecast for the southwest monsoon rainy season!

The Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) has informed that the southwest monsoon rainy season this year will be normal throughout the country and it would be 96% - 104& of the long-term average monsoon rains.

Indian Meteorological Centre has been releasing the forecast for the southwest monsoon rainy season (June to September) in 2 phases right from the year 2003.

IMD has been closely monitoring the status of the ocean surfaces.

The long-term average rainfall during the monsoon rainy season for the period from 1961-2001 is 88 cm.

As such, for this year, the rainfall from the southwest monsoon rainy season is expected to be 98% (5% more or less).

This year’s southwest monsoon seasonal rainfall will be as sisal from June to September. As per the long-term average, it will be 96% to 104%.

IMD will be releasing a new weather forecast in the last week of May 2021.

In addition to the forecast released in April,  the forecast for the 4 Regions from June to September and the forecast for June will also be released!
