All TIME HIGH of 10723 COVID cases in TN- Unimaginable increase in active cases now

The all time high of 10723 Coronavirus cases have been reported in TN and this has set the alarming bells ringing now!!
It is shocking to mention here that on Sunday, 18th April 2021 total number of Coronavirus positive cases was 1379 more than that reported on Saturday, 18th April 2021. Now, the total caseload stands at 991451.On 1st April, the number of active cases was at about 17000 and on Sunday the active cases went up to 70391. Point is that Chennai accounted for 25011 of these cases that was more than 35% of the total.
Yesterday, there were as many as 3304 fresh Coronavirus cases in Chennai and it was followed by Chengalpet with 954 new cases. The districts of Coimbatore and Tiruvallur had 726 and 503 new cases respectively. More than 300 fresh cases were present in the districts of Kancheepuram, Trichy, Tirupur, Tirunelveli etc.
Till now, the number of persons who had died due to this infection is 13,113 and yesterday alone there were as many as 42 deaths due to this infection in TN. The state health department has confirmed that in the last 24 hours the number of samples tested went up to 110130 in TN.
