For ensuring the people wear facemasks and maintain social distancing, the residents associations in Chennai are now associating with police, revenue and authorities of GCC. The number of Coronavirus positive cases has been rising every day now in Chennai is well known.
The authorities have been imposing a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing facemasks and many people still are not bothered about this important rule and roam without wearing facemask.
Creating awareness programmes regarding Covid-19 spreading is very important and Ashok Nagar Residents Association president Mr. M.R. Muthiah mentioned that they had been cooperating with the police, health and revenue authorities. He added that the residents have been advised to wear facemasks, maintain social distancing and use sanitizers to prevent the infection from spreading.
According to Vadapalani Residents Association president, Mr. Rajesh Menon, spoke about how they wanted to give some special gifts to those who wore face masks properly and regularly. He added that sweets have been gifted to those who followed the rules. It is superb to note that sweets were given to those in their colony plus to those in the adjacent areas like provision shops, milk shops and nearby restaurants etc. It is now brought out that the police are happy regarding the support given by the resident association.
It was later pointed out by Mr. Nagarathinam Vadapalani SHO that the residents association have joined hands with police department, health department and revenue department for creating awareness amongst the public on wearing facemasks, maintaining social distancing and using hand sanitizers etc.
