Another Thirty five pilgrims from Chennai, Srirangam and Kumbakonam, who were rescued from Uttarakhand, reached Chennai airport from New Delhi.
The state government has established contact with 382 Tamil Nadu pilgrims stranded in Uttarakhand and has launched efforts to rescue 14 pilgrims from Villupuram who had gone missing from Gourikund.
Following Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa`s announcement about taking steps on a war-footing to rescue Tamil Nadu pilgrims stranded there, a team of high-level officials led by the State`s Special Representative in Delhi are camping in Uttarakhand and coordinating rescue efforts with officials there, an official press release said.
