Due to the lockdown imposition ordered by the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Southern Railway has cancelled 16 special trains tomorrow (Sunday, 25th April).
The State Government of Tamil Nadu has been undertaking various stringent efforts to prevent/check the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic throughout the state spreading and fast, far, and wide!
In this respect, Tamil Nadu State Government has declared a 100% lockdown imposition on all Sundays.
As per the lockdown order, as tomorrow (25th April) is the 1st Sunday after the lockdown imposition, the police are deployed to monitor the lockdown observation in quite a stringent manner!
As it is declared as a 100% lockdown, Southern Railway has been constrained to cancel 16 special trains. Trichy-Karaikkudi the special train operated under the Madurai Railway Division and the Madurai-Villupuram special trains are cancelled.
Special trains operated in the routes Chennai-Puducherry and Trichy-Karur are also cancelled.
As tomorrow is a Sunday, under the lockdown imposition, the reservation counters in the Railway Stations will remain closed!
Similarly, as announced by the Tamil Nadu State Government, buses, autos, and taxis will not run. Only parcels will be given at the food shops/cafeterias.
