CM distributed laptops

Laptops were distributed to 201 students who secured first, second and third places in the State examinations for Std. X and XII by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. ‘Just like your parents, the Tamil Nadu Government and I are proud about your achievements. I wish you all a very bright future’, she said.

An official press release said, ‘The government led by Selvi Jayalalithaa has been providing various facilities to school students, including cost-free education, nutritious noon meal, bus passes, bicycles, uniforms, text books, note books, laptops, educational apparatus, slippers and incentives to stop drop outs. The government, besides presenting cash prizes to toppers (who chose Tamil as their optional language) of the 10th and 12th standard public examinations, has also been taking care of their education expenses. In the 2012-13 batch, nine 10th standard students who secured first place, 50 students who bagged second place and 129 students who bagged third place in the State (total 188), two 12th standard students who got first place, two students who secured second place and nine students who stood third in State level (total 13) were gifted with laptops by the Chief Minister.’
