The Director of the Airport, V K Ravindra Sharma has informed that the Chennai-Salem flight service, which had been stopped due to the prevailing 100% lockdown imposition, is to be resumed from tomorrow (Tuesday, 1st June).
The Salem-Chennai flight service operates from Kamalaapuram, located near Omalur, Salem District, daily. Meanwhile, as per the order of the State Government of Tamil Nadu imposing 100% lockdown until 24th May (now further extended till 7th June), the number of flight passengers came down drastically.
Subsequently, the passenger service flight from Salem to Chennai Metro City was stopped for 10 days from 13th May. Though it resumed on 23rd May, it was stopped again from 25th May.
In this scenario, the Director of Salem Airport, V K Ravindra Sharma has informed that the flight services from Salem to Chennai will be resumed as per the usual timings daily from tomorrow (Tuesday, 1st June).
