TANGEDCO EXPLAINS: How to calculate the bill for May?

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has explained on its official website regarding how to calculate the electricity charges for May!
With the uncontrollably raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic spread, the State Government of Tamil was constrained to impose 100% lockdown over the last 2 weeks and now has extended it again for another week and as such, 100% lockdown imposition is prevailing in the state.
Subsequently, due to anxiety regarding the coronavirus infection and the prevailing lockdown situation, TANGEDCO employees avoided house-to-house visits for a meter reading.
As such, TANGEDCO has appealed to the consumers to take a photo of the meter reading and send to same to TANGEDCO. The engineers will calculate the bill amount and inform the same. Payment can then be made.
Or the customers have another option - to pay the bill with the same amount as per consumption for 2019 May! In case the consumer feels that May 2019 bill is on the higher side, they can pay the bill amount as per the March payment. This would be regularized in the month of July.
Further, TANGEDCO extended the May Bill payment until 15th June. Meanwhile, the consumers appear to be confused about the calculation of the bill amount!
