The extended lockdown with certain more relaxations comes into effect in Tamil Nadu from today (Monday, 7th June)!

Accordingly, permission has been granted to allow the grocery/vegetable/meat shops to function from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM from today (Monday, 7th June).

Further, permission has been given to allow the rental taxis and autos services to function.

The earlier 100% lockdown, which was extended for 2 weeks last week, concluded at 6.00 AM today! During this period, the State The government of Tamil Nadu had arranged mobile vegetable shops in the residential areas so that the public does not face any hardships in procuring essential items such as vegetables and fruits!

Given the above situation, the extended lockdown continues but with some more relaxations from 6.00 AM today until 14th June! During this period, the activities/services permitted earlier will continue to function.

At the same time, the individual retail grocery/vegetable/meat shops are also allowed to function from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

The pavement shops on the streets/roads retail-selling vegetables, fruits, and flowers, the wholesale fish market are allowed to function.

In a similar vein, retail shops selling electric items such as bulbs, cables, switches, and wires can function from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

The cycle repair shops and the service shops for 2–wheelers (Not the sales shops), hardware shops, shops selling automobile spare parts are all allowed functioning from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

On the academic front, shops selling books and stationery items can function from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM. Following this order from the State Government of Tamil Nadu allowing the functioning of these shops, the traders are expediting the early reopening of these shops.

The passengers are also permitted to travel in rental vehicles, taxis, and autos with E-Registration.

3 passengers are allowed in taxis apart from the driver. 2 passengers are allowed in autos apart from the driver.

At the same time, the recently organised Tamil Nadu State Government’s mobile vegetables/fruits shops, which have huge popularity from the citizens, will continue to function.

As such, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has appealed to the public that they should walk to the nearest grocery/vegetable shops to procure the same and AVOID BUYING ITEMS BY TRAVELLING ON CARS/BIKES.

It is also worth mentioning at this juncture that all the government offices have been allowed to function BUT WITH ONLY 30% STAFF!
