Thalaivi Update: Completes Censor

The eagerly awaited biopic of the former chief minister J.Jayalalithaa has completed censor formalities and has received U Certificate.
Directed by A.L.Vijay who has made a lot of family-oriented movies knows the importance of this much-anticipated biopic. After a lot of research and script put in place by K.V.Vijayendra Prasad, who is the brain behind stories like the magnum opus “Baahubali” franchise, Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” to name a few, you can expect an honest story on celluloid. Interestingly Vijayendra Prasad was also the co-writer of the screenplay of Vijay’s “Mersal”.
“Thalaivi” will be released in Telugu and Hindi also. The dialogues of the Tamil version are written by Madan Karky. The star cast of the movie also deserves praise. We all know that Four-time National award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut is portraying the coveted role of Jayalalithaa while Arvind Swami plays the role of MGR. Senior actor Nassar plays M.Karunanidhi while Samuthirakani plays the role of politician Veerappan. Actress Poorna plays the role of Sasikala.
Interestingly, for the readers who are unaware, a biopic on Jayalalithaa was already made for OTT by Gautham Menon named “Queen” where Ramya Krishnan played the lead role. It received quite some appreciation too.
Let’s see how this flick will turn out to be with such a strong technical team behind the scenes and powerful actors in front of the camera. Going by the steady pace and with the unlocking of the lockdown, the movie is expected to release in August 2021.
