The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin has announced that the prevailing lockdown imposition has been extended by another week in all districts.
The prevailing lockdown concluded at 6.00 AM this morning (Monday, 5th Jul;y).
There has been a substantial reduction in the extent of impact/spread of the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, giving due consideration to the aspect of stringent monitoring of the spread, the prevailing lockdown is extended for another week in all districts from today (Monday, 5th July) until 15th July.
Details of the lockdown imposition and relaxations
The functioning time of the TASMAC shops, jewellery shops, textile shops, and grocery shops has been extended.
The local public transport system will resume functioning but with 50% passengers.
All temples in the state are reopened and the devotees allowed for Darshan.

Interstate private and public transport are not allowed!
Flight services are banned except those allowed by the Central Home Ministry.
Movie theaters, liquour bars, swimming pools, social/political gatherings by the public, swimming pools, entertainment & cultural programmes, schools and colleges, and zoological parks are not allowed to open.
As a preventive measure against the spread of the raging resurgent coronavirus, ONLY 50 PERSONS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE ON FUNCTIONS LIKE MARRIAGES. ONLY 20 PERSONS ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN DEATH-RELATED CEREMONIES.
