After a news channel came up with a report that Karthi’s Kaithi directed by Logesh Kanagaraj was copied from a story written by an ex-convict, the producers of the movie Dream Warrior Pictures have come out with a statement declining any such activity
Rajeev, an ex-convict had apparently written the story of Kaithi and claims Logesh along with his writing team had stolen the story from him. Going legally, Rajiv has challenged the Kaithi team to not start the sequel of the movie by getting an interim stay order.
Rajeev is also claiming compensation of Rs.4 Crores. Filed in a court in Kerala, the court has restrained the producers to not work on the sequel. Dream Warrior Pictures on the other hand has denied the controversy saying as a baseless allegation. They also went on to add that they have enough proof to claim the authenticity of the original story of Kaithi.
The producers are awaiting the court’s order physically to respond suitably. Until then they are tight-lipped about their counters to the case. They have also requested the media to not speculate the issue until the final verdict by the court is pronounced.
