Going back, one would be forgetting how the authentic Dosas from Saravana Bhavan taste but as times passed by even the story of its founder P. Rajagopal would be forgotten. A production house in Bollywood will be making a movie inspired by the true events faced by the founder.
Coming from a humble background and went on to create one of India’s biggest food chains, Rajagopal is a true rag to riches story. In 2019, He surrendered himself to the police after he was convicted of his crime of murdering the husband of Jeevajothi, a lady he wanted to marry.
Naming Rajagopal as the Dosa King, the yet-to-be-titled movie will be produced by Junglee Pictures who made some riveting movies like ‘Raazi’ in Bollywood as well as family entertainers like ‘Bareilly ki Barfi’, etc.
The untold story of the battle of Jeevajothi who fought legally for the murder of her husband for almost 18 years will be written by Bhavani Iyer who has written the screenplay for movies like ‘Black’, ‘Raazi’, etc. Bhavani is excited to start work on this real-life story. She feels it is going to be challenging for her.
A few years back a podcast on the story of Rajagopal and Jeevajothi had come up online. Although podcasts are still gaining popularity, a story on celluloid will get more attention. Junglee Pictures have acquired the rights of this story in all languages. Details of the cast and crew of this project will be announced shortly
