The prices of vegetable prices have come down steeply in the Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable/fruit/flower market!
Presently, prices of several vegetables have come down at Koyambedu wholesale market. Especially, prices of tomato, turnip, brinjal, flat beans (avaraikkaai), snake gourd (pudalankai) and cabbage HAVE COME DOWN TO Rs. 10/- PER KG!
Beans, okra (ladys finger vendaikkai), onion, drumstick, and green chillies are sold at Rs. 20/- per kg.
Beetroot is sold at Rs. 15/- per kg. Bitter gourd (Pagarakaai_ is sold at Rs. 25/- per kg. Carrot & radish are sold at Rs. 18/- per kg!
As the Tamil calendar month Aani is in progress (considered to be inauspicious to conduct positive occasions including wedding), as well as the prevalent lockdown imposition as a preventive measure to check the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic, and the critical instance of several citizens being deprived of jobs and losing them due to the corona crisis) many of the Chennai residents had left Chennai Metro City to their native places and since there is a downward trend in the extent/impact of the corona crisis in the last few weeks, these citizens have started returning to the Chennai Metro City!
