Due to the coronavirus crisis in the 1st and resurgent phase of raging spread, the schools and most other academic institutions have remained closed since March 2020!
As such, classes were being conducted online.
Presently, the new academic year has commenced as well! As such, both the parents and students and the academicians and school teachers have been eagerly expecting the announcement of reopening the schools!
As such, the State Government of Tamil Nadu had indicated that it has planned to reopen the schools on 1st September.
In the above scenario, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin conducted a detailed review meeting today (Saturday, 21st August) with the cabinet ministers regarding the extension of the present lockdown imposition.
After this review meeting, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced that the present lockdown with all the restrictions and relaxations will continue for another 2 weeks.
Further the Chief Minister has ordered the schools to be reopened from 1st September for the students of 9th to 12th Standards and will function on a rotation basis. Similarly, all colleges and polytechnics with diploma courses will also function on a rotational basis.
