From 1st of October, a new rule regarding working hours would come into effect!!
It is learnt that the Central government has brought some changes in the rules for the workers. There are chances that the working time of 9 hours per day might be increased to 12 hours per day. It is revealed that this increase in the work time could lead to more stress among the workers. There would be some changes regarding monthly salary for the workers. Truth is that workers` total salary won’t be reduced at any cost and their basic pay would be increased.
As per the new rule, it was mentioned that a worker`s basic wages would increase by 50% from the total salary. This would also increase the PF of the worker. Though this might lead to getting a lesser amount per month, it would certainly increase the money a worker would get after his or her retirement. Information is that the contribution amount would also increase from the employees.
It is worthy to mention here that the work hours increasing to 12 hours per day would mean working extra time for 15 to 30 minutes and this would be regarded as an overtime of 30 minutes. In these existing rules, working below 30 minutes would not be considered as overtime. Workers working continuously for more than 5 hours would not be allowed in this new draft. For every 5 hours of continuous work, there would be a break time of 30 minutes. The draft includes instructions regarding this also.
