At the Tamil Nadu borders, all travellers to be screened for this increasing new disease

The nine bordering districts in Tamil Nadu have been put on alert!!

It is now brought out that the state health department has given strict instructions to screen all the travellers coming from Kerala state at these Tamil Nadu district borders for Nipah virus. 

Recently, Nipah virus has been affecting many in Kerala and now a 12 year old boy died due to this virus. This has set the alarm bells ringing. It is known that after a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases the health department officers have been conducting fever surveillance in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

It was pointed out by the state health minister Mr, M. Subramanian that those coming from Kerala must submit a certificate with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccination or negative RT-PCR report. It must be noted that TN has been taking preventive measures to prevent outbreak of Zika and Nipah viruses in the neighbouring districts.
