Under Kathipara Flyover, a multi modal space for the public would be mind blowing!!

Who would have thought that one day bus bays, food kiosks, retail outlets, play areas for children and landscaped space etc would be available at one place under the Kathipara Flyover in Guindy?
Within 2 weeks of time, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. MK. Stalin would be opening the Kathipara Urban Square, a multi modal space near the Alandur metro station.
The sources have mentioned that originally the multi modal space should have got ready by May month and the facility is almost complete now. An amount of Rs 14 crores has been spent in constructing the urban square over a massive area of 55000 square metres under the Kathipara Flyover. It must be taken into account that there would be bus bays, food stalls, retail outlets plus play area for the kids etc here and people would be benefited
An official belonging to CMRL mentioned that in just a few days landscaping works plus work on laying roof tiles for retail spaces would be over. It is now learnt that the walking area and bus bays would be immediately available for the public. After some time, food kiosks and retail outlets would also be there.
Point to be noted is that CMRL has floated tenders to develop space for retail outlets and other facilities and it is now said that it might take a few months.
The largest elevated connecting station in phase-1 is Alandur metro station and the idea behind the multi modal space was to make the public use this metro station.
