Presently, Covaccine and Covishield are being used for administering corona vaccination to citizens above18 years of age. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has approved vaccines from the USA – Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and China’s China Form to be used on an emergency basis. However, WHO had NOT approved Covaccine, developed by Bharath Biotech, India.
In this scenario, information is gathered that the Central Medical Experts’ Council has approved the usage of Covaccine for the children of the age group 2-12.
Earlier, over the last 3 months, a trial was being conducted at the Delhi AIIMS for the children of the age group 2-18.
As per this, in a newly devised scheme of the Central Government, the Special Medical Experts’ Council – comprising of doctors, scientists, medicine analysts, etc., - have granted permission to use Covaccine for the vaccination of the children in the age group 2-18, BASED ON THE VARIOUS TRIALS/EXPERIMENTS UNDERTAKEN IN 3 PHASES.
After the permission granted by the Experts’ Medical Council, information is gathered that Indian Medical Research Council (IMRC) will also permit administering Covaccine to children!
