The Coronavirus pandemic has been brought under control now and the rains have reduced. It is now brought out that Tenkasi district administration has decided to lift the restrictions on bathing in the waterfalls. From 6am in the morning till 6pm in the evening, various tourist spots such as Main falls, Five Falls, Old Courtallam etc would be open for the public. This would bring huge happiness to the tourists, locals and traders etc.
On Tuesday, Tenkasi district administration, while announcing the reopening of the waterfalls, has asked the public and tourists to cooperate to maintain Covid-19 SOP. To avoid spreading of Covid-19, the tourists have been asked to maintain social distance.
Safety of the tourists is very important and for this steps are being taken. This was mentioned by the superintendent of police, Mr. Krishnaraj. It is learnt that in addition to police and revenue personnel a special battalion would be deployed here to ensure safe bathing of the tourists. In different places in Courtallam, around 60 CCTV cameras would be installed. He concluded that boards would be put up for creating awareness about Covid- 19 safety measures among tourists.
