Many people have health issues in them but for some reason or the other they do not go to the hospitals to get themselves tested. This won’t be there in the future in Chennai and in Tamil Nadu.
The health minister Mr. M. Subramanian has confirmed that an unique health ID or UHID would be assigned to each person and it would help them to access medical services. This would also provide the government with a database to give priority to health care.
Just recently, names of more than 79000 people belonging to Kandamangalam village in Villupuram district have been added to the state population healthy registry with 14 medical conditions they were screened for. With the help of 4 private software firms, more than 150 health workers screened the people.
This programme was launched two months back and it has been gaining momentum. It is now said that atleast help from 30 firms would be taken so that all citizens in TN get included in the population health registry. Information collected was that atleast 6.5crores people have been assigned special UHIDs now. From the family database, CM health insurance schemes etc, age, name, gender etc were taken. This project would be launched in the month of June and health information of every person would be available. The health officers have revealed that the right to access these details would be provided to empanelled healthcare providers including doctors and hospitals etc. With permission from the individual, doctors would be able to make some changes.
