Christmas has come now and in a few more days New Year will also be coming!!

This is the time of the year when the majority of people across the world become very happy and show lots of enthusiasm because of the chance of spending quality time with their families and friends.  Christmas and New Year unites people across the world.

Last year, due to the Coronavirus pandemic the Xmas celebrations took a back seat due to lockdown restrictions etc. Christmas was celebrated virtually. In this year, Xmas is being celebrated with huge enthusiasm and happiness as people in Chennai have been visiting their friends and relatives houses to share their joy and happiness.

It was brought out by a resident belonging to Georgetown in Chennai that Christmas was the only occasion where his relatives from other places come to his house. He added that last year it was through the online video calls prayers and celebrations for Christmas took place. Truth is that this year his relatives from other places came to his house a week before Christmas. He concluded that the Omicron variant has been threatening now and enough precautions were followed.

As per a resident belonging to Chromepet, churches were closed last year due to Coronavirus pandemic lockdown and due to that first mass at the midnight of Christmas could not be attended. She mentioned that now with Coronavirus under control in Chennai mass at midnight would be possible. This time, the churches in Chennai are having fewer mass for Christmas and people would be able to meet their friends.
