To make the job of identifying people processing narcotics etc, Chennai airport has done a sensational thing and this has caught the attention of many now.
Induction of the canine squad has been done by the customs at Chennai airport to locate those with narcotics. There are some persons who smuggle drugs and to identify them the canine squad was formed at the airport. At a private ground in Pallavaram in Chennai, an induction ceremony took place.
Orio and Orly are two dogs that were inducted by the customs department at the airport and they could become highly popular in the future. It is interesting to note that these dogs are just one year old and have been trained in Punjab. For the last 10 months, these dogs have been giving lots of training. In the future, more such well trained dogs could be added by the customs at Chennai airport.
Mr. M.V.S. Choudary, chief commissioner of customs and GST, spoke about how the police department have been using sniffer dogs for the last 10 decades and how the dogs have played huge roles in many important cases. He was hopeful that the canine dogs that have been helping the police department would also be providing help for customs in catching the persons smuggling the drugs etc at the airport. The 2 sniffer dogs Orio and Orly demonstrated their special abilities on the ground before the higher officers etc.
