At the Saidapet based NEET coaching center, a student tested Coronavirus positive just recently. The latest news is that as many as 34 students who studied in this coaching center have tested positive now from as many as 90 samples that were taken for testing.
It must be noted that out of 34 who have tested positive one student has been sent to Guindy based Kings Institute of Preventive Medicine and research and the other one has been sent to a private hospital in Chennai for treatment. The good news is that the remaining32 students who have been getting treatment at Injambakkam based Covid care center are fine and stable now. This was according to the health minister Mr. M. Subramaniam.
He later explained how both Delta as well as Omicron virus have combined together and are spreading at rapid speeds across the world. The senior citizens especially must not hesitate to get vaccinated fully. It is learnt that till now 86% of the populations have been administered with the first vaccine dose and 58% with both the vaccine doses. There are many who havent yet received their second shot and are hesitating to get their second dose. On Sunday, around 50000 camps would be set up in TN for the 17th mega vaccination camps.
In Chennai alone, there would be as many as 16000 camps and GCC would be vaccinating 2.5lakhs people. The Omicron variant has been spreading at a fast rate now in India but in TN just 120 cases have been reported. This was due to the fact that the surveillance has been increased at the airports
It is important to mention that when people were tested for delta variants only after 1 or 2 weeks the second report would turn negative. In Omicron cases, the affected persons have turned negative in just 4 to 5 days.
