Three days back the supply of Krishna Water was hit due to leakages in the Kandaleru-Poondi canal at Ubbalamadugu. The discharge of Krishna water from the Kandaleru reservoir in Andhra Pradesh was halted on July 16 due to leakages. It has been resumed at 9 am on Wednesday after the concrete was re-laid. Since July 1, when Krishna water was released from Kandaleru reservoir, several problems were encountered. Now all the problems have been resolved and city will get Krishna water soon.
This news has brought a new lease of life to metro water officials since it was struggling to maintain supply to the city. Even Red Hills reservoir is on the verge of drying up and Metro Water is taking up contingency measures to ensure supply of water. “The water level is nearing dead storage and we are taking measures to channel water in the dam to the drawing area for supply,” a Metro Water official said.
