Cooler city with higher percent of rainfall

Yesterday – the 19th July 2013, Chennai city enjoyed the heavy rain shower. It was just 33.1 degree Celsius at Nungambakkam and 33.4 at Meenambakkam. Rainfall at Nungambakam was measured to be 10.8mm and Meenambakkam ws 33.9mm.

The normal level of rain during the southwest monsoon at Chennai will be 122.9m. Whereas, between 1st June and 17th July, the rainfall was about 133.3mm which is almost 8% higher than the normal range. On the contrary side, the Tamil Nadu state is experiencing lesser shower of about 7% when compared to the normal range of 81.1mm.
