With the semester examinations for the final year students studying in various polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu to complete, the placements for these students would begin soon.
Under DOTE or Directorate of Technical Education wing, as many as 51 polytechnic colleges function now across the state of Tamil Nadu. There are more than 40,000 studying various courses in these polytechnic colleges.
According to a senior officer belonging to DOTE it was clear that the placements for the final year students would be superb this year as new job oriented courses like diploma in fire technology and safety technician X-Ray technology course, medical laboratory technology course and food processing and preservation courses have been introduced for the students.
It must be taken into account that due to the Coronavirus infection the placements were not organised well in the last 2 years. It is now revealed that since the Coronavirus pandemic has been controlled well the authorities have also decided to start the placement procedures for the sake of many students. In all the polytechnic institutions, the Directorate of Technical Education has been collecting the details of the placement officers and students councillors etc. The polytechnic colleges have been asked to update the required information online.
