Here is the procedure to apply for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Extended Medical Insurance Scheme presently implemented and functioning:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Extended Medical Insurance Scheme is being implemented with the primary objective of facilitating the economically backward (poorer) section of the society to avail the latest medical treatments.
Under this scheme, financial assistance is given for more than 1200 treatments.
The treatment for the coronavirus has also been included under this scheme from June 2020. The details were released to the private hospitals.
A single-family gets coverage of up to Rs. 5 Lakhs per year. The Family (Ration) card is MANDATORY to avail of this scheme. Annual income must be lower than Rs. 72000/-.
Income Certificate MUST be obtained from the Village Administration Officer (VAO). The Family (Ration) Card and the Income Proof Certificate MUST be presented to the Medical Identity Card Distribution Centre functioning in the office of the District Collector.
The application can be registered in this centre and the Identity Card for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Extended Medical Coverage Scheme can be obtained from this centre located at the Office of the District Collector.
The photos of the Family Leader and the members will be displayed on this Identity Card.
The fingerprints of all family members above 2 years of age would be registered on this Identity Card.
