Actress Manjula Vijayakumar passes away

Popular yester year super heroine Manjula who had acted in more than 100 films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films passed away today in Chennai.
She, who made her film debut with the Gemini Ganesan-starrer Shanthi Nilayam in a supporting role, way back in 1969, breathed her last this morning. She passed away by 11.40 am at a private hospital and her body will be brought to her residence at Aalapakkam by 1.30 pm. The cremation is all set to happen this evening.
Manjula had worked with some of the top actors in the industry including MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. Some of her hit films include Rickshawkaran, Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban, Anbe Aaruiyre and Cheran Pandiyan. She was married to veteran actor Vijaykumar.
