Newly constructed flyover at Koyambedu in Chennai is grabbing the attention of many now for this superb reason!!
It is well known that GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation is involved in the landscaping and beautification works of centre meridians, traffic islands and flyovers in Chennai. Soon, GCC would also be taking efforts to beautify the newly built flyover near CMBT at Koyambedu.
For creating landscaping under the flyover, a tender has been floated and this was brought out by an officer belonging to Greater Chennai Corporation. The amount spent for beautification would be around Rs 26.50 lakhs.
In future, we might see greenery and artworks under this flyover in Koyambedu. It is known to us that the space under the Kathipara flyover in Guindy has become a recreational spot. Just similar to this, the space under the newly built flyover in Koyambedu would also become a recreational spot.
In this regard, Greater Chennai Corporation has already proposed a project to upgrade the vacant area under the Koyambedu flyover. There would be planting of native trees under the Koyambedu flyover plus walking paths would also be laid under the flyover. Under Chennai city beautification works, artificial fountains at traffic junctions were also included.
