Only 13,464 students of the 8.53 lakh students who attempted the Class 12 supplementary examinations have passed. The exams, which were held from June 19th to July 1st, are an attempt to give a second chance to those who failed their board exams earlier.
‘The teachers who set the question papers should be sensitive. The directorate (of education) conducts so many exams and is under stress. So, the teachers often don`t focus on correction either. Moreover, these students are neglected as they don`t belong to any institution anymore and are treated as outcasts… It was one of my own proposals to help students clear exams immediately after the boards. They would remember their lessons and need not waste a year’, said S. S. Rajagopalan, an academician.
