The State Government of Tamil Nadu Food Minister Chakrapani has informed that the pupil detecting equipment (eye black) was very useful for the citizens and as such, this facility would be extended to all the ration shops in Tamil Nadu!
The Tamil Nadu State Food Minister had a session with the press reporters at the Madurai Airport and shared:
“The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin, had earlier announced that initiatives would be undertaken to protect the safety of the rice and other grains in the open godowns throughout the state!
Henceforth stringent legal action will be taken for the theft of rice from these godowns and the culprits will be treated with iron hands!
Regarding a question raised that the citizens who come to procure ration items to the ration shops DO NOT REGISTER THEIR FINGERPRINTS, the answer is this has happened in a few ration shops! Another complaint is that the agricultural workers do not register their fingerprints.
In several states, the system of checking/registering the eyeball is being deployed for the distribution of ration items purchased.
In Tamil Nadu, we have also initiated action for the procurement of ration items after the eyeball check! After trial, if it is found to be beneficial, this system will be provided in all the ration shops in Tamil Nadu!”
