Additional luggage charges are to be paid for train passengers carrying more than permitted luggage!!

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Company (IRCTC) has announced that additional luggage charges will be levied on train passengers carrying more than the permitted luggage!

As per this, it is informed that a train passenger is allowed to carry a luggage of 70 kg while travelling Air-conditioned First Class, 50 kilograms while travelling in A/C Tier Sleeper First Class, 40 kg while travelling in A/C 3-sleeper or A? C Chair Car, 40 kg while travelling in sleeper class, and 35 kg while travelling in 2nd Class!

If a passenger carries more luggage than permitted luggage as above, ADDITIONAL LUGGAGE CHARGES MUST BE PAID!

While paying this additional charge, the passenger can carry 150 kg in AC First Class, 100 kg in AC 2-tier sleeper or First Class50 kg for sleeper class and 70 kg for second class passengers!
