Many Covid-19 clusters have been identified in Chennai now and the Chennai Corporation is taking serious steps to keep the infection in control. The teams from GCC have started to visit the households in Chennai now having Covid19 clusters. The teams have been isolating the patients and have been providing booster vaccination doses for those above the age of 60. The clinical status of the Covid patients is now given huge importance by the medical as well as zonal health officers. The teams have been going to many houses to monitor the clinical status of the patients.
From 379 active Coronavirus cases in Chennai, the numbers have been coming down in the last few days in Chennai. This was according to Mr. Jagadeesan, Chennai City Health officer. He spoke about the presence of the highest number of active Covid-219 cases in places like Adyar and Teynampet now.
All the Covid-19 patients would be visited by the medical officers and zonal health officers soon. This has been done as a part of action to control the Coronavirus infection. It was brought out by Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Chennai Corporation commissioner that stickers are being pasted at house entrances of Covid-19 patients so that others would not go into those houses. He added that residents belonging to 250 houses have been isolated.
Point to be noted is that all the family members and patients have been asked to be isolated at their homes and they are being monitored by NULM workers. It is learnt that contact tracing is being carried out and samples from all the traced contacts have been taken for testing. He explained that If there was clustering at the institutions, saturation samples were also taken and clustering of cases were monitored closely. It is important to mention that 24 streets in Chennai have clusters now.
