Chief Minister Stalin inaugurates the Bharath Net Project for Rs. 1627 Crores!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the implementation of the Bharath Net Scheme in Tamil Nadu for Rs. 1627.93 Crores, laying fibre-optic cables in the Muthalakurichi Village Panchayat in the Kanyakumari district.

In a notification released in this regard, it is mentioned:

“Today (Thursday, 9th June), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin, inaugurated at the Chief Secretariat the vent of implementing the Bharath Net Scheme on behalf of the Department of Information Technology in Tamil Nadu for Rs. 1627.83 Crores, commencing with the laying of fibre-optic cables in Kanyakumari District, Thakkalai local administration, Muthalakurichi Gram Panchayat.

Bharath Net project consists of linking the 12525 Grama Panchayats in Tamil Nadu through a fibre-optic cable network providing high-speed transmission of information

This project is being implemented by TANFINET (Tamil Nadu Fibre Net). With this project, a 1 GBPSwavelength will be provided to 12525 Grama Panchayats linking them.

This Project has been divided into 4 Phases, A, B, C, &D. Under Phase-A, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Chengalpattu, Chennai, Ranippettai, Thorupathur, and Thiruvannamalai districts are included.

Under Phase-B, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Dharmapuri, Kallakurichi, Salem, Erode, Nilgiri, and Villupuram districts are included.

Under Phase-C, Nagappattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Pudhukkottai, Namakkal, Karur, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Trichy and Mayiladuthurai districts are included.

Under Phase-D, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Theni, Thoothukkudi, Thirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Dindigul, and Sivagangai districts are included.
