Government bans website

www.ripoffreport.com, a website that allows consumer to put up complaints has been banned by the government. Visitors to the website were greeted with the message ‘access to website (is) blocked’. The website allows unmoderated complaints and discussions on companies, products and services in India.
Current practice in the government is that no explanation is given when a website is blocked. The ban comes in the wake of an order to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to cut off access to several adult forums and file storage sites.
Reports say that this site has been banned only in India.
