Linking Voters List - Aadhar card from today 1st August - CEO to conduct review meeting today!

The new system of linking Aadhar Card with the Voters` List commences today (Monday, 1st August) in the State of Tamil Nadu! To complete this important task without any difficulties, the Chief Election Officer Satyaprada Sahu is conducting a review meeting today (Monday, 1st August) with representatives of the approved political parties!
There are more than 6 Crores voters in the State of Tamil Nadu! There are major issues for the Election Commission regarding the voters` list - 1 person registering twice and appearing twice on the lists and having 2 voter IDs, the names of dead citizens still not removed from the Voters` list, and the citizens / families who have shifted to a different place!
To solve these issues, a decision was taken to link the Voters` List with the individual Aadhar cards! This task is being implemented from today (Monday, 1st August (). This task is commencing in Tamil Nadu State as well.
An exclusive form has been prepared for this – Form-6B - this needs to be filled and submitted to link the Voters` List with the Aadhar card.
The polling booth staff and officers are scheduled to make house-to-house visits to hand over this form 6B.
The details of the Aadhar card number, the voter`s serial number, address, and mobile phone number will be asked in this form. The filled application has to be handed over to the local booth officer. The officer will then forward it to the concerned election officer. Using exclusive software created for this task, the Aadhar card will get linked with the voters` list!
Benefits of linking Aadhar card & Voters` list:
Bogus voters will be comprehensively thrown out from the list!
In a state, the voter`s name will appear only once in the heist.
Further, the Chief Election Officer Satyaprada Sahu informed us that efforts are being taken to get the details through cell phones / Apps and this would be extremely beneficial.
Satyaprada Sahu will have a detailed discussion/review meeting with the representatives of approved political parties including the DMK and AIADMK. During this meeting, various activities including the Aadhar-Voters` List link will be discussed in detail!
