Independence Day is fast approaching and it would be extra special this time because of the fact that it would be the 75th year after India got freedom. On 6th, 11th and on 13th August 2022, Chennai traffic police have announced traffic diversions near Secretariat to facilitate rehearsals to celebrate this special day in a grand manner.
It was informed by the Chennai traffic police department that traffic diversions would be there till 6pm till the end of the rehearsals. It is noteworthy that the stretch of Kamarajar Salai from Napier Bridge up to RBI Subway North on Rajaji Salai and Flag Staff Road would be closed for vehicular traffic.
Only those vehicles that have got a pass would be allowed. Vehicles intending to go towards Parrys Corner coming on Kamarajar Salai via Rajaji Salai would have to take the route through Swami Sivanandha Salai, Anna Salai, Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Road, Raja Annamalai Mandram and NFS Road to reach Parrys Corner.
Likewise, vehicles coming on Kamarajar Salai intending to go towards Kamarajar Salai via Rajaji Salai would have to take the route via NFS Road, R.A. Mandram, Muthuswamy Road, Muthuswamy Bridge, Anna Salai and Wallajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai.
It is important to note that vehicles coming from Anna Salai intending to proceed towards Parrys Corner and Kamarajar Salai via Flag Staff Road would take route via Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Road, Raja Annamalai Mandram, NFS Road to reach Parry`s Corner and Anna Salai, Wallajah Road and would reach Kamrajar Salai.
