The Telecommunication Company is now reviewing the proposal from TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) to charge for the calls made through WhatsApp and Facebook which are presently free of cost!

After the advent of Jio in the Telecommunication Industry, all telecommunication companies revised their rates including charges for even incoming calls!

As such, the public who suffered on account of this used the communication facility on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram to make their calls!

In this social media networking, facilities such as making video calls and making group calls are also available!

Now, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has proposed to the Central Ministry of Telecommunications that these free-of-cost communications facilities on social media networks must be on a payment basis!

TRAI had already initiated this proposal way back in 2008 itself! It was proposed again in 2016-217!

The Central Ministry of Telecommunications, which remained unresponsive till now, HAS NOW ASKED CERTAIN DETAILED EXPLANATIONS of THIS FROM THE TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF INDIA (TRAI)!

In case the Central Ministry of Telecommunication agrees to the proposal from TRAI, all the calling facilities available on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram will now become charged!

It is worth noting here that we, the citizens, who are already paying for the internet facility will now have to pay as well for the other services like communication facilities used through the internet separately!
